Real Madrid has withdrawn from attempting to sign Argentine forward Julian Alvarez, giving Barcelona a clear advantage in the race to acquire the player in the upcoming period.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport," Atletico Madrid's rejection of Real Madrid's offer, which was valued at 150 million euros, effectively ended the royal club's attempts to sign the player and closed the door on this deal.

The same source clarified that journalist "Fabrizio Romano" indicated that Julian Alvarez's entourage reacted coolly to the idea of his transfer to Real Madrid, emphasizing that the player has no intention of joining the royal club now or in the future.

The report added that Real Madrid's actions in this deal were not linked to a clear sporting plan, as the offer was made in an attempt to attract a big name in the market, before the process was completely halted following recent developments.

On the other hand, the report indicated that the player's entourage contacted Barcelona's management, which did not show concern about Real Madrid entering the fray, amid a belief within the club that the player is inclined to wear Barcelona's jersey, despite interest from other clubs such as Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

Julian Alvarez has requested to postpone discussions about his future until after his participation with the Argentine national team in the World Cup, as he is currently focused on the competitions. His position is expected to be decided by next July.
