Norway Coach: We Faced a World-Class Team and Morocco Test Was Ideal Before the World Cup
Ståle Solbakken, the coach of the Norwegian national team, confirmed that the match against the Moroccan national team was an important and ideal test for his team before the start of the World Cup finals, following the friendly draw between the two teams with a score of (1-1).
Solbakken said in his statements after the end of the match: "Morocco started the game better than us, and we also struggled a bit because of the pitch, which made things difficult in the first few minutes."
He added: "Offensively, we were better than defensively during the first half, but as time went on, our performance improved and we got into the rhythm of the match better, especially since we were facing a very strong team."
The Norwegian coach pointed out that the conditions in which the match was held were ideal for his team, explaining: "This encounter was extremely important in terms of heat, humidity, and the pitch, as it gave us a real opportunity to test ourselves against a team ranked between sixth and eighth globally."
Solbakken emphasized that his national team still needs to develop certain aspects before the official competitions begin, saying: "There are still some things that need to be corrected, but we have enough time to work on them."
He concluded his remarks by expressing his satisfaction with the gains his team made from the match, saying: "On the other hand, there are many positive points that can be built upon, and that's why we would have accepted to undertake such a final rehearsal at any time before the World Cup."
