Perez: Proud of Mourinho's Return, We Must Stay United
Florentino Pérez expressed his great happiness after winning the Real Madrid presidential elections and renewing confidence in him until 2030, affirming that the next phase will witness continued efforts to maintain the club's status and achieve more titles.
Perez said: "We won the elections and will continue working to keep winning titles. We won at all polling stations and achieved the second-best result in the history of Real Madrid elections, with the best result also being ours in 2004. It is an exceptional result, and I would say it would have been better if it weren't for the cancellation of nearly a thousand postal votes documented by a notary due to some formal procedures, which we will contest because we believe the right is on our side."
He added: "Once again, you have demonstrated your commitment and loyalty to this club. Today, Real Madrid triumphed. We have presented the world with an example of democracy, transparency, and coexistence. We have proven that we are one big family, passionate about Real Madrid and ready for the future with confidence. As the club's president, I feel immense pride towards all the members. It was a wonderful electoral process during which the members freely expressed their will to determine the future of the greatest club in history."
He continued: "I am still here, and the members know me well. I am here to defend Real Madrid. We will continue working for the club to keep winning championships. We will remain proud of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the best stadium in the world, proud to have the best players in the world, and also proud of the return of one of the best coaches in the world, the Madridista José Mourinho. And make no mistake, with me as president, Real Madrid will always belong to its members."
He also spoke about the value of belonging to the club, saying: "You have shown the world the true meaning of being a Madridista, and what this feeling represents that unites millions of people around the world, including the Pope, who today feel prouder than ever of Real Madrid."
Perez emphasized the importance of unity within the club, saying: "We must remain united, as what brings us together is our passion for Real Madrid. I want to continue building a club that tops all prestigious global rankings, the highest valued and revenue-generating club in the world, with the largest international reputation. Most importantly, we will continue to work to uphold our values, which are the foundation of our identity: hard work, respect, humility, constant pursuit of development, and solidarity."
He addressed a special message to the members who did not vote for him, saying: "I also want to speak to those who did not give me their votes. I will do my utmost to listen to their concerns and feedback. Trust us, because we will be closer than ever to all the club members, as we all belong to Real Madrid. We have a unique way of understanding life, and we will continue to work to make the greatest club in history even greater."
He concluded his speech by thanking everyone who contributed to organizing the elections, saying: "I would like to thank all those who participated in the exceptional organization of this exemplary election day. Despite all the difficulties Madrid faced today, the club members once again demonstrated a high sense of responsibility and a great duty towards Real Madrid through their voting."
