Araujo Travels to Barcelona for Quick Treatment Before World Cup

Ronald Araujo, defender of Barcelona and the Uruguay national team, traveled to Barcelona for quick treatment after suffering a minor muscle contraction in his calf muscle, just days before the start of the 2026 World Cup.

The Uruguayan Football Federation explained that the player will miss the national team's training on Monday, but will return to the group on Tuesday before traveling to Mexico in preparation for the tournament.

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' confirmed that the injury does not raise concerns within the Uruguay team, as Araujo is expected to be ready to participate in the first match against Saudi Arabia on June 15.
