Monday 08-06-2026
Florentino Perez was re-elected as the president of Real Madrid after his victory in the presidential elections over his competitor, Spanish businessman Enrique Riquelme, to continue leading the royal club until 2030.

Perez said during his presence at his campaign headquarters: 'Tonight Real Madrid won, we won at every polling station, this means we convinced every generation, this is the second-best result in the history of Real Madrid after my victory in 2004.'

Enrique Riquelme said in press statements after the announcement of Perez's victory: 'Congratulations to Florentino on the win, but this is not the end.'

Perez's victory gives him the green light to implement his new sports project, where Portuguese Jose Mourinho will be the new coach of Real Madrid for two seasons with an option to extend for an additional year.

The royal club, led by Perez, has also secured the signing of defender Ibrahima Konate on a free transfer, in addition to acquiring Dutchman Denzel Dumfries from Inter for approximately 20 million euros.

Real Madrid's management seeks to make extensive changes at the squad level, as part of a plan aimed at strengthening several positions and rebuilding the team to compete for all local and continental titles, amid expectations that the coming weeks will witness more moves and major deals within the royal club.
