Al-Ahly Negotiates with Gonçalves to Compensate for Potential Departure of Milot

Al Ahly officials have included Portuguese player Pedro Gonçalves from Sporting Lisbon on the list of candidates to strengthen the team during the current summer transfer window.

Informed sources revealed to Al-Riyadiyah newspaper that the club's management is considering several technical options to enhance the lineup, with a comprehensive dossier submitted to German coach Matthias Jaissle to select suitable elements for the next season.

The name Gonçalves is among the top candidates to join Al-Ahly, after the management decided to search for a new alternative following the decision to release the Frenchman Enzo Millot and put his contract up for marketing.

The Portuguese player is highly valued within the club for his significant experience and exceptional attacking abilities, in addition to his ability to make a difference in the final third of the pitch.

Gonçalves delivered impressive performances with Sporting Lisbon during the last season, participating in 41 matches across various competitions. He succeeded in scoring 15 goals and also provided 9 assists.

On the other hand, Enzo Millot appeared in 40 matches for Al-Ahly last season, during which he scored 9 goals and provided 7 assists to his teammates.

Al-Ahli management seeks to continue strengthening the team's ranks after the successful season that saw them crowned with the AFC Champions League title for the elite and the Saudi Super Cup.

The elegant team also finished the Saudi Roshn League in third place with 81 points, in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the King's Cup before being eliminated by Al Hilal.
