Yesterday, Thursday, Al Ahly Club announced the appointment of former team star Wael Gomaa as the club's football director, succeeding Walid Salah El-Din.
Mido said on the "X" platform: "Congratulations to my dear friend and brother on returning to his rightful place and position, Wael Gomaa, a champion and fighter who loves Al Ahly club."
Al Ahly was unable to win any titles last season except for the Egyptian Super Cup.
Al Ahly's management decided to part ways with coach Jes Torup and football director Walid Salah El-Din.
