Wael Gomaa's First Comment After Taking the Position of Football Director at Al Ahly

Wael Gomaa, the former Al Ahly club defender, commented on taking the position of football director at Al Ahly club.

Wael Gomaa said in a post on Instagram: "I am happy to return once again to my home, Al Ahly Club, at a difficult time that requires everyone to come together to regain control, God willing, over African and local football and to aspire to global success."

He added: "I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the sisterly State of Qatar, its government and people, for their warm hospitality, which made me never feel like a stranger. May God continue to bless it with security, safety, and prosperity. I also express my gratitude and appreciation to the officials at BEIN SPORTS channels for allowing me to join and respond to the call of Al-Ahly Club, especially Mr. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Chairman of the BEIN Media Group, and the entire Qatari management of the channel, as well as my colleagues and friends with whom I spent the best years of my life."

Jumaa concluded his post: "All thanks and appreciation to the Al Ahly club management for their keenness on my presence in my home once again. Responding to Al Ahly's call is a duty for everyone who belongs to it, and God willing, we will meet expectations and help bring joy and smiles back to the fans of our dear club. Al Ahly is always and forever above all."

Al Ahly club had announced the dismissal of Walid Salah El-Din from his position as the football director.
