Officially.. Tottenham Announces Signing of Andy Robertson

Aston Villa announced the signing of Scottish defender Andy Robertson on a free transfer, following the end of his contract with Liverpool. He will officially join the team on July 1st.

Robertson is considered one of the most prominent full-backs in European football in recent years, boasting a career filled with achievements with Liverpool and the Scottish national team. His transfer comes as part of the club's efforts to enhance experience and leadership within the team.

The club's sporting director, Johan Lange, stated in an official announcement: "We are delighted to have Andy join the club. He is an exceptionally talented left-back and one of the best in the history of the Premier League, and he will add a lot to our squad."

He added, "His leadership qualities, high quality, and experience in major competitions will be of great value in developing the team. He also possesses the same ambition and determination to achieve success."

For his part, coach Roberto De Zerbi confirmed that the player will be an important addition to the team, saying: "I have followed Robertson for years, and he is a player with high technical abilities, great experience, and a winning mentality. He will be influential both on and off the field."

Robertson's transfer comes after a long nine-year career with Liverpool, during which he won all major titles, including the UEFA Champions League, the English Premier League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the FA Cup, and the League Cup, along with several other titles.

The player began his career in the lower leagues of Scotland before progressing to reach the highest levels of European football, becoming one of the most prominent leaders on the field, both with clubs and his national team, where he has worn the captain's armband since 2018.

The club hopes that Robertson's joining will be a strong addition to its new sports project, especially given the extensive experience he has at the highest levels.
