Torup's Agent Talks About the Behind the Scenes of the Coach's Departure from Al-Ahly
Firas Ali, the agent of Danish coach Jess Thorup, spoke about the behind-the-scenes details of his client's departure from his position as head coach of Al-Ahly.
Firas Ali said on the "Al-Nahar" channel: "I have been dealing with Al-Ahly club for a long time, and I am also one of its supporters. Therefore, there has always been a keen interest in ensuring that my name is associated with a good relationship with this great club in Africa and the Arab world."
He added: "The last session witnessed great professionalism from Al Ahly's side, and things proceeded smoothly and clearly without any confusion. After clarifying some points of misunderstanding that existed previously, the relationship between the two parties ended on a good note, which was important for both the coach and the club."
He continued: "The session took a long time, but the coach was completely satisfied with it. We came to Cairo with an agreement, and most of what was circulated in the media was not true. From the beginning of serious communication, an agreement was reached, and we only took time in the session to finalize the contracts and legal details with the lawyers."
Regarding the terms of ending the contract with Al-Ahly, Torop's agent clarified: "Honestly, I didn't want to discuss the figures, but the terms for ending the contract were not complicated. There were some minor issues that needed clarification, and then everything concluded respectfully."
Regarding the intention to resort to FIFA, Torop's agent confirmed: "There has been no talk of resorting to FIFA or the courts, and we have no intention of doing so. These are things that happen in football, and there are many factors that can affect the results of coaches, even in the biggest clubs, and there is no guaranteed or permanent success."
