Medhat Shalaby: Zamalek Will Participate in the African Champions League Next Season
The renowned media personality Medhat Shalaby confirmed that Zamalek Club will participate in the African Champions League next season, and the rumors about its exclusion due to financial issues are unfounded.
Shalaby said on the program "Good Evening Al-Anwar": "Zamalek Club will definitely participate in the African Champions League."
He added: "It has never happened in the history of the African Union that a club was prevented from participating in African tournaments due to financial difficulties in these matters being arranged."
He pointed out: "Recently, there have been leaks suggesting that Al Ahly is monitoring Zamalek's situation regarding participation in the African Champions League."
He continued: "I imagine these are rumors or leaks to the public, because Al Ahly is very prestigious and would never accept, in any way, to prevent Zamalek from participating in the tournament just so it can participate. That would never happen."
Shalaby concluded his statements: "Participation in tournaments is determined by numbers, not by pens."
