Manchester United Changes Stance on Rashford's Future

Thursday 04-06-2026
Manchester United has become open to a new loan option for player Marcus Rashford or reaching a different arrangement regarding his future, amid developments related to Barcelona's stance where he is currently on loan.

The Spanish newspaper 'Sport' reported that the English club is waiting until June 15 before making a final decision, expressing its readiness to negotiate a new exit mechanism after confirming Rashford's desire to continue with Barcelona and his rejection of several other offers.

The report added that Manchester United initially insisted on not waiving the purchase option valued at 30 million euros, before changing its stance towards flexibility to reach a final solution in the player's case.

It explained that Rashford had reached an agreement with Barcelona to reduce his salary to continue with the team, but negotiations with Manchester United did not make progress, prompting the Catalan club to move quickly and sign Anthony Gordon for 70 million euros to strengthen the winger position.

The report indicated that this signing reduced the priority of Rashford's continuation at Barcelona, although the club has not completely closed the door on his future, as the matter is still linked to transfer market developments and the finalization of the new striker deal and salary considerations.

The newspaper confirmed that Barcelona has not made any official offer to sign Rashford, despite some news about a 15 million euro offer, and the club will not make decisive moves before the transfer market evolves.

Meanwhile, English clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle have shown interest in the player, but Rashford does not wish to discuss these offers currently, while Manchester United is not keen on his return, awaiting the resolution of his future after the World Cup.
