Forlán on Álvarez: No One is Indispensable
The former Uruguayan striker Diego Forlán commented on the circulating news about the potential departure of the Argentine striker Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid, stating that he would feel sorry if that happens, given his great appreciation for Álvarez's abilities.
Forlán said that any player has the right to consider a new move if they see that transferring to another club represents a better opportunity for them, noting that this does not diminish the player's love for their current club, but rather falls within the nature of modern football.
The Atlético Madrid star commented on this by saying: "It would be unfortunate because I like him a lot."
He added: "If a player sees the opportunity to move to another team positively, it doesn't mean he doesn't love the club. If he stays without wanting to, he won't give his best."
He continued: "No one is indispensable in this life. If he receives a good offer and wants to leave, it should be for a high amount because he is a player who deserves it."
