History of Saudi National Team's Participation in the World Cup

The Saudi national team is recalling memories of its previous participations in the World Cup, as the 2026 World Cup approaches, marking the Green Falcons' seventh appearance in the largest football tournament at the national team level.

The Saudi national team continues its presence among the world's top teams, having successfully secured a spot in the finals for the third consecutive time and the seventh in its history.

The Green Falcons are competing in the 2026 World Cup within Group H, which includes the teams of Spain, Uruguay, and Cape Verde, in a new challenge against a constellation of strong teams.

The 1994 United States edition remains the most notable milestone in the history of the Saudi national team, as they managed to reach the Round of 16 during their first participation, before their journey ended against the Swedish team.

Following that historic achievement, the Green Falcons only managed to exit at the group stage in the next five editions, despite delivering several performances that remained etched in the memory of the fans.

The Saudi national team previously participated in the 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2018, and 2022 editions, before preparing for its new adventure in the 2026 World Cup.
