Moroccan University Appoints Hassan Filali as Head of Atlas Lions' World Cup Mission
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has decided on the person responsible for leading the national team's delegation to the United States, assigning the task to Hassan Filali, a member of the federation's board of directors, in preparation for the 2026 World Cup finals.
The selection of Filali comes in light of the administrative and organizational experience he has accumulated over the past years within the university's structures, where he has undertaken several prominent tasks, including membership in the organizing committee for the Africa Cup of Nations finals, in addition to his contribution to managing various files related to national teams.
The "Atlas Lions" delegation is set to depart for the United States today, Wednesday, to enter the final stage of preparations for the World Cup, amidst great ambitions to continue the positive results that the Moroccan national team has achieved on the international stage in recent years.
The team concluded its preparatory camp in Morocco in the best possible way after achieving a wide victory over the Madagascar team with a score of 4-0 in the friendly match held at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in the capital, Rabat, on Tuesday evening.
The Moroccan national team, led by coach Mohamed Wahbi, will continue its preparations on American soil, playing a final friendly match before the start of the World Cup. The aim is to complete the technical and tactical aspects and finalize the lineup that will represent Morocco in the world's biggest football event.
Moroccan fans are looking forward to these preparations being a new step towards a strong participation in the 2026 World Cup, building on the historic achievement of the "Atlas Lions" in the previous edition.
