Perez Announces New Deals and Coach for Real Madrid Soon

Wednesday 03-06-2026
Florentino Perez, the candidate for the presidency of Real Madrid, made new statements in an interview with the newspaper "El Español," where he confirmed that he will start unveiling his new signings in the coming days, with the launch of his sports project for the next season.

Perez said in his speech: "On Thursday, I will announce the first major signing for Real Madrid for the next season. Everyone knows my sports project: having the best players and continuing to win. I will also announce the identity of the new coach in the coming days."

He added about the names for the sports project: "There will be names before Sunday (the election date), don't worry. People know me, I've always created a sensation during my 23 years as president. Those who know me know that the best players will be at Real Madrid and that we will win the Champions League again."

Regarding Enrique Riquelme's statements that Raúl González would be the sporting director if he wins the elections: I have no problem with that, although I don't know if he has spoken with Raúl. Player agents call me and say that (Riquelme) talks to players and asks them not to refuse, but I don't believe anything he says. One of the names he mentioned was Rodri, but he didn't close the deal. Everything he says is like a TV show called 'Everything is a Lie.' He claims he's coming to save Real Madrid, but he's asking for a loan with a 54% interest for his company, which is incomprehensible."

Regarding the reason for calling the elections, he explained: "I noticed a movement from people who were part of the worst period in Real Madrid's history between 2006 and 2009. Riquelme's father was with Calderon. After 20 years, their children or relatives are returning. Everyone from that bad phase is gathering here: Calderon, Tebas, the Spanish Federation... They want to control the club for their own interests, which I haven't done in 26 years."

He added: "Those who say we are in debt while we are the richest club in the world, what about the rest of the Spanish clubs? Financing the renovation of the Bernabéu is not an issue; the interest is less than 3%, and there is one billion euros remaining. The stadium is paid off from its revenues. We have profits reaching 150 million from the new seats, and we are capable of repayment."

Regarding the city of Real Madrid, he said: "We have transformed Valdebebas into a project similar to Silicon Valley. It will be the best center in Europe and will increase in value over time. We are raising the value of the club's assets for the benefit of the members."

Regarding the concerts at the Bernabéu, he said: "All artists want to perform at the Bernabéu, even the Pope wants to come. Those who criticize the stadium do not respect Real Madrid. The transformation we have undertaken has made us the richest club in the world."

He concluded his remarks about the future Bernabéu project by saying: "You can watch football with a realistic experience as if you were inside the stadium, in collaboration with Apple. It will be a global revolution that will change the way football is understood."
