Panathinaikos Enters Race to Sign Barcelona Defender

The contract of Danish defender Andreas Christensen with Barcelona ends this summer, while the player has an offer from the club to renew his contract under reduced terms, including an extension for one season with an option for an additional season.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Sport', Christensen is attracting interest from clubs in England and Inter Milan, along with a surprise offer from the Greek club Panathinaikos, which has shown a serious desire to sign him in the upcoming period.

The newspaper added that coach Jakob Neestrup, the new head coach of the Greek team, is one of the major supporters for signing the player, due to previous knowledge of his capabilities.

On the other hand, Panathinaikos recognizes the difficulty of the deal amidst offers from major European clubs, while Christensen's future remains open until he makes a final decision regarding staying with Barcelona or leaving.
