Flick Sets His Major Priority in Barcelona

After officially securing Anthony Gordon's signing, Barcelona's next task in the transfer market is clear, as coach Hans Flick places signing a true striker at the top of his priorities in preparation for the next season, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo.'

The newspaper explained that Flick is closely following all movements related to strengthening the team and is currently focusing on finding a suitable replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who delivered four outstanding seasons with Barcelona, scoring an average of 30 goals per season, making his replacement one of the main challenges for the technical management.

After strengthening the forward line by signing Gordon, who is known for his ability to apply offensive pressure alongside his scoring contributions, the club's primary goal has become to sign a player capable of ensuring continued offensive effectiveness. For this reason, Julian Alvarez, Atletico Madrid's striker, tops the list of candidates to strengthen the center-forward position.

The Spanish newspaper added that Atletico Madrid is still firm in its position and has not yet responded to Barcelona's offer of 100 million euros to sign the Argentine international. However, the Catalan club remains confident that the player's desire, who only wants to move to Barcelona, may have a decisive impact on the future of negotiations.

Both Flick and sporting director Deco believe that Alvarez represents the ideal choice to lead the team's attack in the upcoming phase and that signing him would provide Barcelona with a significant qualitative addition after Lewandowski's departure.

The Spanish newspaper confirmed that Barcelona will not seriously move towards other deals before resolving the new striker's file, and will later evaluate the team's other needs, with the necessity of providing vacant spots in the roster by offloading some players before completing any additional signings.
