Monday 01-06-2026
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced on Monday the closure of one of the cases filed against Zamalek Club, marking a new development in the series of accumulated financial disputes facing the club. This leaves a total of 17 ongoing cases against it.

This decision comes at a time when the Egyptian club continues its attempts to address the registration suspension issue, which has become a real crisis threatening the team's stability both technically and administratively.

According to the data, FIFA had previously issued decisions to suspend Zamalek's registration in four cases related to the dues of former Portuguese coach José Gomes and his assistant staff, in addition to a registration suspension penalty for three periods in another case concerning the dues of Swiss coach Christian Gross, as well as the case of dues for former Tunisian player Ferjani Sassi.

The list of current disputes also includes a number of international cases with European and African clubs, among them the Portuguese club Estrela da Amadora regarding the dues of the Angolan player Chico Banza's deal, the Belgian club Charleroi concerning the deal of the Palestinian player Oday Dabbagh, as well as the case of the Moroccan club Renaissance Zemamra related to the dues of the Salah Mosaddek deal.

The issues also continue with FC Oleksandriya regarding the dues from the deal of Brazilian Juan Bezerra, in addition to the dues of former team player Senegalese Ibrahima Ndiaye, and the case of Saint-Étienne club related to the deal of Moroccan Mahmoud Bentayg.

The list also includes the case of Ittihad Tangier Club regarding the dues of the Abdelhamid Maali deal, along with the registration suspension file related to Belgian coach Yannick Ferrera, in addition to the case of former team player Beninese Samson Akinyoola, and another concerning one of Ferrera's assistants.

Amidst this complex situation, Zamalek is striving to settle its financial files as quickly as possible in order to lift the registration ban and obtain the African license, allowing it to return to continental competition normally in the upcoming phase.
