The newspaper "Al-Youm Al-Sabea" reported that Wael Gomaa, the former Al-Ahly star, is close to taking on the position of football director at the Red Castle.
Wael Gomaa will return to the position of football director in the new season, succeeding Walid Salah El-Din, after initially expressing his willingness during discussions with him.
The newspaper explained that Wael Gomaa had previously held the position of football director with Al Ahly under the leadership of Spaniard Garrido, and with the Egyptian national team alongside Portuguese Queiroz, and he is now close to returning to the same position.
Wael Gomaa welcomed Al Ahly's offer, but he requested some time to adjust his situation due to his current television media commitments.
