Perez: I Hope Vinicius Stays, But He Has the Freedom to Leave

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez made important statements regarding the future of Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, amid the ongoing debate about renewing his contract with the royal club in the upcoming period.

Perez said in his talk: "Vinicius' contract ends in a year and has not been renewed yet? There is still time, and I hope he stays with us forever. He helped us win the last two Champions League titles, and he is very connected to the club."

He added: "Those who do not like Vinicius are only those who are not Real Madrid fans. There are those who boo him at the Bernabeu, and they are wrong, they believe what they read in some newspapers and are misled."

The Real Madrid president continued his defense of the player by saying: "Vinicius is a great star, and I would be happy for him to stay with us forever, and all that is said about him asking for excessive money is not true."

Perez concluded his statements: "Is my goal to renew his contract before January when he becomes able to sign with any other club? If he does not want to stay, he has the freedom to do so, I will not force him into anything, money is not the most important thing for us, and it never has been."
