Saudi Arabia Falls to Ecuador in Donis' First Match

The Saudi national team began their final preparations for the World Cup with a friendly loss to Ecuador, with a score of 2-1, in a match held on Sunday morning at Red Bull Arena.

The Ecuadorian team succeeded in opening the scoring in the 37th minute through Jackson Porozo, ending the first half ahead with a goal to nil, before Anthony Valencia reinforced the lead by scoring the second goal in the 51st minute.

The Saudi national team attempted to get back into the game during the remaining minutes and managed to narrow the gap with Sultan Mandash scoring the team's only goal in the 87th minute. However, it was not enough to avoid defeat.

This match is part of the preparation program for the teams participating in the World Cup.

The Saudi national team is scheduled to play two additional friendly matches against Puerto Rico and Senegal before officially starting their World Cup campaign.

This match was the first test for the Saudi national team under the leadership of coach Georgios Donis.
