Saturday 30-05-2026
Italian Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of the Brazilian national team, has clarified the position of star Neymar Junior regarding participation in the World Cup, affirming his insistence on keeping the player in the "Seleção" squad despite the recent injury he sustained.

Ancelotti explained that the coaching staff expects Neymar to return at the start of the team's journey in the tournament, indicating that he might join the opening match against Morocco or participate in the following match at the latest.

The Brazil coach emphasized that he does not intend to make any changes to the current roster, affirming that all the players who have been called up will continue to be with the team during the World Cup competitions.

Ancelotti stated in his remarks: "We will not make any changes to the roster. The players who have been selected are the ones who will participate in the tournament, and I will not change my plans. All 26 players will take part in the World Cup."

The Italian coach's statements come as medical teams continue to monitor Neymar's condition, with confirmations that he will not be ready to participate in the friendly matches against Panama and Egypt.

Reports indicate that Neymar might be sidelined for a period ranging from two to three weeks, raising doubts about his readiness to participate against Morocco in the Brazilian team's opening match of the tournament.

The list of the Brazilian national team participating in the World Cup included:

Goalkeepers: Alisson, Ederson, and Weverton.

Defense line: Alex Sandro, Bremer, Danilo, Douglas Santos, Gabriel Magalhães, Ibañez, Léo Pereira, Marquinhos, Wesley.

Midfield: Bruno Guimarães, Casemiro, Danilo, Fabinho, Lucas Paquetá.

Forward line: Endrick, Gabriel Martinelli, Igor Thiago, Luiz Henrique, Matheus Cunha, Neymar Junior, Raphinha, Ryan, Vinicius.
