Mendes' Mediation Settles Mourinho's Position and Brings Him Closer to Returning to Real Madrid

The Spanish newspaper "AS" confirmed that the file regarding the Portuguese coach José Mourinho's move to Real Madrid has seen a decisive development, following the intervention of agent Jorge Mendes, who helped resolve the complications related to his contract with Benfica.

The source clarified that the main issue was a clause allowing Mourinho to leave for 7 million euros during the election period, before this clause expired. This led to a state of anticipation within Real Madrid, especially since the deal was linked to the results of the club's presidential elections.

The report indicated that a final agreement was reached between all parties on the details of the deal, to be activated if Florentino Perez wins the Real Madrid presidential elections on June 7. Mourinho would be among the first steps of the new project if the current administration continues.

The Spanish newspaper added that Real Madrid's management is working to expedite the procedures in preparation for the official announcement immediately after the elections, with expectations that Mourinho will be presented shortly after the results are finalized, in order to give him enough time to start preparing for the new season.

The report also indicated that Benfica agreed to lower its high financial demands to facilitate the contracting process, as part of a comprehensive agreement ensuring the coach's smooth transition among all concerned parties.
