Mido Defends Hossam Hassan's National Team Selections
Ahmed Hossam Mido, the former Zamalek star, defended Hossam Hassan's selections as the coach of the Egyptian national team for the World Cup squad.
Mido said on his official account on X: "We can't say that Hossam Hassan is an unfair coach to any Egyptian player because he only included 3 players: Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, and Abdallah El-Said."
He continued: "Apart from that, with all due respect to the other players, there isn't a player who's been outstanding and makes us wonder why they weren't selected. Most of them had a mediocre season. Enough defending ordinary players whose presence is inconsequential."
The Egyptian national team is preparing to face the Russian national team in a friendly match this Thursday evening in preparation for the 2026 World Cup.
