Lyon Monitors Jonathan David's Situation with Juventus

The Canadian striker Jonathan David, a Juventus player, is linked with the possibility of returning to the French league through the gateway of Olympique Lyon, after his unsuccessful season with the Italian club, according to 'Football Italia'.

David joined Juventus on a free transfer from French club Lille, after his contract with the club ended, despite several other offers, with the Italian club securing the deal for an agent fee of 12.5 million euros.

However, the Canadian striker's experience with Juventus did not meet expectations, as he only managed to score 8 goals and provide 5 assists in 46 official matches, with a clear struggle to capitalize on opportunities and a limited impact on the team's performance.

According to the same source, Juventus, after failing to qualify for the Champions League, is seeking financial balance by selling some players, and David is one of the names suggested for departure.

The Italian club also hopes the player will perform well in the upcoming World Cup to increase his market value and attract bigger offers.

In the same context, the report explained that returning to the French league is the player's preferred option, while Lyon shows clear interest in signing him in the upcoming period.

Lyon had previously shown interest in the player earlier in January, when his struggles with Juventus were evident, and then resumed monitoring his situation again in March.
