Officially: Lazio Announces the Departure of Maurizio Sarri from Team Coaching

Lazio club officially announced the departure of its coach Maurizio Sarri, through a video published by the club showcasing his most notable moments on the sidelines, as he is close to taking on the coaching role at Atalanta in the coming period.

This departure marks Sarri's second farewell from coaching Lazio, after he led the team in a first stint between 2021 and March 2024, when he left due to family circumstances.

Sarri returned to coach Lazio last summer and remained in his position despite admitting earlier that he was close to leaving after learning the club faced a transfer ban due to financial fair play restrictions.

During his recent tenure with the team, Sarri led Lazio to the Italian Cup final, where they lost to Inter 2-0, and finished the season mid-table in the Italian league standings.

According to Lazio's management, the contract between the two parties was terminated by mutual consent, with an official statement and a tribute video released on the club's social media accounts.

Reports indicated that Maurizio Sarri has already reached an agreement to take over coaching Atalanta, with his new coaching role expected to begin soon, according to what was reported by 'Football Italia'.
