Real Madrid Sets Date for Club Presidential Elections

Real Madrid officially announced the date for the club's presidential elections for the year 2026, after the electoral committee confirmed that the voting will take place on June 7th, marking the first presidential elections the club has witnessed since 2006.

Real Madrid clarified, through a statement issued by the electoral committee, the approval of two official lists to contest the upcoming elections, the first led by Florentino Pérez, who seeks to remain at the helm of the club's management, and the second led by Enrique José Riquelme.

The club's statement read: "The electoral committee of Real Madrid Football Club, after reviewing the documents submitted by the various candidates, has announced the approval of the two candidate lists for the elections of the president and board members led by Florentino Pérez and Riquelme."

The newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" indicated that these elections will be the first in Real Madrid since Ramón Calderón won the club's presidency in 2006, following Florentino Pérez's resignation during his first term as president of the royal club.

Members of Real Madrid are anticipating the upcoming elections in light of Florentino Pérez's long-standing leadership, while Riquelme seeks to compete against him in the race for the club's presidency in the coming phase.
