Riquelme: We Have an Agreement with Two Global Stars and Will Hire a Sports Director
Spanish businessman Enrique Riquelme, a candidate for the presidency of Real Madrid, confirmed that he has an agreement with two global football stars to join the team if he wins the elections.
In a press interview, Riquelme said: "There are deals that have already been finalized, yes, we have signed two major international stars for Real Madrid, and we will work on the coach's file in the coming days."
He added: "The agreement stipulates that if I become the president of Real Madrid, two major international stars will play for the team, and I will likely announce them in the next two weeks."
He continued: "I would love to see Jürgen Klopp as the coach of Real Madrid, but I also admire other coaches. José Mourinho is a great coach, but Real Madrid needs a long-term project. Here at Real Madrid, we don't need a temporary and quick fix; we need a comprehensive change in direction, with a medium and long-term project."
Regarding the dismissal of Xabi Alonso, he said: "Dismissing Xabi Alonso was a mistake because you cannot build a project in just three months, and he should have been given full authority to manage the locker room."
He concluded his remarks by saying, "I have a sports director ready to join us, and I will announce his name in the coming days."
