The Future Deal.. Liverpool Plans to Sign Mohamed Salah's Successor

Monday 25-05-2026
The English newspaper The Times revealed that Liverpool has placed young Ivorian winger Yan Diomande at the top of its priorities in the summer transfer market, in anticipation of the post-Mohamed Salah era after the Egyptian star leaves the team.

The report clarified that coach Arne Slot believes that strengthening the attacking flanks has become necessary after the team's offensive effectiveness declined this season.

The 19-year-old Diomande caught the eye with Leipzig after an impressive season in which he scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga, significantly increasing his market value to nearly 100 million euros.

The report also indicated that Liverpool is considering including Harvey Elliott in the deal to reduce the contract value.

The report also confirmed that Liverpool is not only monitoring Diomande, as they have other names on their list such as Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United and Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain. However, the Ivorian winger remains the main target due to his young age and his ability to play in multiple attacking positions.

Despite Liverpool's strong interest, Leipzig's management does not seem eager to let go of the player easily, especially with interest from several major European clubs. Multiple sources indicate that the German club prefers to extend the player's contract with a significant release clause, while the final decision will remain in Diomande's hands in the coming weeks.
