The Saudi Arabian Football Federation stated in an official announcement that player Saud Abdulhamid's joining of the national team's camp in Riyadh has been delayed, as part of the final preparation phase for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The statement clarified that the player was unable to catch his scheduled flight due to being a victim of theft while in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, where he was with his family to celebrate his wedding.

The federation confirmed that the incident resulted in the loss of several of the player's personal belongings, including his passport, which caused a delay in his travel arrangements and immediate joining of the training camp.

He pointed out that there is ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Sports and the relevant authorities, in addition to the Kingdom's embassy in the Netherlands, to expedite the issuance of the necessary alternative documents.

The statement emphasized that diplomatic and administrative efforts aim to resolve the player's crisis as soon as possible, ensuring his joining the national team delegation without affecting the preparation program.

The Saudi national team continues its preparations in Riyadh according to the pre-set schedule, with close monitoring of the player enlistment file ahead of the upcoming commitments.
