Dumfries Enters Barcelona's Radar if Koundé Departs

The name of Dutchman Denzel Dumfries has reappeared on the radar of FC Barcelona, amid the possibility of changes in the right-back position during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Italian newspaper 'FC Inter News' reported that the Dutch full-back might leave Inter Milan permanently this summer, as his entourage works to find a new destination for him at one of Europe's top clubs, with the player expressing openness to studying the offers presented.

The report added that Dumfries' new agent, Ali Barat, has already held meetings with Liverpool and Barcelona, and the Catalan club has been informed of the player's position and readiness to transfer, although Barcelona does not plan to make an immediate move, waiting for developments in the transfer market.

The same source indicated that the possibility of Dumfries transferring to Barcelona is directly linked to the future of French defender Jules Koundé, as any significant departure would be a prerequisite for opening the door to signing the Dutch player.

English Premier League clubs, led by Liverpool and Chelsea, are monitoring Koundé's situation, with expectations of strong moves towards him in the coming period, which Barcelona is closely watching.

At the same time, Barcelona is working to finalize the deal for João Cancelo through an agreement with Al Hilal, to rely on him in the full-back positions, before making any additional moves in defense.

The sports management team, led by Deco and coach Hans Flick, believes the team needs physically strong players on the flanks, making Dumfries a viable option if the right financial and technical conditions are met.

Dumfries' exit price in the current transfer market is 25 million euros, with the release clause activated in July for only one month, making the completion of the deal dependent on this limited timeframe.

The player's name was previously proposed through his former agent Jorge Mendes, but Barcelona was unable to complete the deal at the time due to financial fair play restrictions, while the player's salary is considered within the club's possible limits, with any move remaining dependent on internal sales within the team.
