Grêmio Moves to Permanently Acquire Arthur Melo from Juventus

Sunday 24-05-2026
Grêmio club is working on retaining Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo permanently, following the good performances he has delivered since returning to the team on loan from Juventus.

According to Brazilian and Italian reports, Grêmio is keen on reaching an agreement with Juventus to purchase the player's contract outright during the upcoming summer transfer window, especially after Arthur has regained a significant part of his form this season.

Arthur himself expressed openness to continuing with Grêmio, stating in previous comments that he feels happy and important at the club where he first launched his football career. However, he also noted that the final decision rests with Juventus, as they hold his contract.

The Brazilian midfielder returned to Grêmio in the summer of 2025 on loan until the end of the season, after turbulent years in Europe with Juventus, Liverpool, Fiorentina, and Girona.

Despite Grêmio's desire to keep the player, the task will not be easy, especially with interest from other clubs in his services, most notably Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia and Como of Italy, as Juventus is open to selling the player permanently this summer.
