Guardiola: It Has Been a Great Honor to Represent This Club, and I Didn't Expect This Much Love

The farewell night of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola witnessed emotional moments following the defeat against Aston Villa with a score of 2-1 in the final round of the English Premier League, where the Spanish coach bid farewell to the team and fans after a 10-year journey at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola began his statements in a moment of great emotion, saying: 'I am very nervous and scared now, why do you love me so much? Why are you doing this to me?'

He added: 'I could never imagine this amount of love, it has been an amazing and great honor to be your coach and to be here during these ten years, the video was very long because of the number of championships and wonderful emotions.'

He continued: 'Please, a moment of silence, I am very nervous, terrified now, why do you love me so much? Why are you doing this to me? Please, I would like you to remember me not only for the championships we won, this is the reason I stayed for 10 years, no one can endure all these years here.'

He continued his talk by saying: 'If you see me in the coming years, anywhere in the world, and you see me walking down the road and you are Manchester City fans, come and give me a hug, I will need that.'

He continued: 'I never expected to stay here for 10 years, Manchester has become my home, one more thing before you all go home to drink wine or anything else.'

He continued: 'The players don't know it, but I will be there controlling them, they have to continue to perform and maintain the standards set by legends like Fernandinho, Gundogan, Ederson, John Stones, and Bernardo Silva here.'

He added: 'Congratulations to John and Bernardo on their incredible careers and the huge number of matches they played in our shirt, they have a great responsibility to maintain these standards.'

He continued: 'Hopefully, through these wonderful players, we have provided emotions that made people come here and feel that we might provide enjoyment, this is why we are here.'

He continued: 'My father is here in the stands, he is 94 years old, he may not realize it, but I am sure that my wife and children realize that for many years our family name will remain here in the new stand.'

He added: 'This is the great honor I can receive from this club, and that's why I would like to say thank you very much, of course, to Sheikh Mansour, but especially to Khaldoon Al Mubarak for granting this great honor that I will carry for the rest of my life.'

He concluded his statements by saying: 'It has been fun, it has been a great honor to represent this club, every decision I made, even with all the mistakes, I was always thinking about what is best for this club, I love you very much.'
