Gattuso Nominated to Succeed Sarri in Coaching Lazio

Reports are increasing about coach Maurizio Sarri nearing the managerial position at Atalanta, while "Football Italia" reports suggest his possible departure from Lazio, with Gennaro Gattuso being considered as a potential successor.

According to sources, Sarri expressed his dissatisfaction with several issues within Lazio, including a strained relationship with club president Claudio Lotito, fan boycotts, a transfer ban, and the sale of players without his consent.

Although Napoli's name was mentioned earlier, current indications suggest that Sarri is likely to move to Atalanta, as multiple sources indicate that he is finalizing his agreement with the club.

Sarri's contract is expected to extend for two years with an option for an additional season, with a salary of 3 million euros annually plus bonuses.

The same source mentioned that Lazio's option to replace Sarri might be surprising, as Gattuso's name is being strongly suggested following his departure from coaching the Italian national team after failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

The reports also indicated that Lazio is considering other options, including the current Atalanta coach Raffaele Palladino, which could open the door to significant changes or even exchange deals between clubs.

Fabio Pisacane's name was also mentioned among the potential options, in case he does not continue with Cagliari after his first season in the Italian league.
