Amid Atalanta's Interest, Juventus Opens Door for De Gregorio's Departure

Juventus is approaching the release of its goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio during the upcoming summer transfer window, after a first season that did not meet expectations within the Italian team.

The 'Calcio Mercato' website explained that Juventus management has set Di Gregorio's value at about 15 million euros, despite the club paying 20 million euros to Monza to acquire his services two seasons ago.

This current season saw the Italian goalkeeper facing repeated criticism due to some impactful mistakes, the latest of which was in the match against Fiorentina, prompting the technical staff to consider relying on Mattia Perin during the recent derby match against Torino.

Atalanta is monitoring the goalkeeper's situation in preparation to move for his acquisition, especially with the potential departure of Marco Carnesecchi amid significant interest from several European clubs during the summer transfer market.

The Italian website indicated that Cristiano Giuntoli, a candidate for the sporting director position at Atalanta, is one of the prominent admirers of Di Gregorio, having previously signed him for Juventus in 2024, which might facilitate his move to Atalanta should Carnesecchi leave.

Di Gregorio's contract with Juventus extends until June 2029, while his value is approximately 11 million euros, making his sale for 15 million euros a financially acceptable deal for the club.

In contrast, Juventus is considering several options to replace the Italian goalkeeper, with Liverpool's Alisson Becker topping the list of candidates despite the difficulty of completing the deal if the team misses out on participating in the Champions League next season.
