Real Madrid Defeats Bilbao with a Four-Goal Performance on Carvajal and Alaba's Farewell Night

Real Madrid secured a deserved 4-2 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the 38th and final round of the Spanish League, at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Real Madrid took the lead through Gonzalo Garcia in the 12th minute, capitalizing on a brilliant pass from Carvajal, while Jude Bellingham scored a second goal in the 41st minute after an excellent ball from Petaric.

In the 45+1 minute, Athletic Bilbao scored a goal to narrow the gap after a cross from Williams, which Gorka Guruzeta converted with a powerful shot into the net from inside the penalty area.

Kylian Mbappe scored a third goal for Real Madrid in the 51st minute after receiving a pass from Carreras and then striking a brilliant shot from the edge of the penalty area into the net.

In the 88th minute, Real Madrid added a fourth goal after a well-organized attack that began with the ball reaching Kylian Mbappe, who passed it to Petaric, who then passed it to Brahim Diaz, who placed it in the net. The validity of the goal was later confirmed after resorting to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology. Meanwhile, Urko Izeta scored a second goal with a header in the 90+1 minute.

Real Madrid increased their tally to 86 points, securing second place in the overall standings, while Bilbao remained at 45 points in twelfth place.

The match also witnessed a farewell moment for the duo Dani Carvajal and David Alaba, as they will leave the team during the upcoming summer transfer window after their contracts with the club expire.
