The players of the Egyptian national team underwent official doping tests as part of the approved organizational procedures in preparation for participating in the 2026 World Cup, following the start of the training camp for the tournament.

The local national team players joined the training camp starting last Thursday, following the conclusion of the Champion Group competitions in the Nile League, as part of the preparations for the final stage before the World Cup.

The Egyptian Football Association revealed that a delegation from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) arrived at the national team's camp today, Saturday, to carry out doping tests. This is a routine step applied to all teams participating in the tournament.

The federation clarified that the FIFA delegation randomly selected 12 players to undergo testing, in an atmosphere marked by full cooperation from the coaching staff and players within the camp.

The Egyptian national team is competing in the 2026 World Cup within Group G, which includes the teams of Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.

The "Pharaohs" will begin their journey in the tournament with a strong match against the Belgian team on June 15th in Seattle, USA.
