Officially: Acceptance of Florentino Perez's Electoral File

The electoral committee of Real Madrid Football Club announced today the acceptance of the official candidacy submitted by the current president, Florentino Pérez, to run for the club's presidency in the upcoming elections, after completing all the required legal and administrative procedures.

The committee's statement mentioned that Eduardo Fernandez de Blas, the representative of Perez's campaign, submitted the official candidacy file on time. It included the candidacy letter, a fully signed and approved list of electoral members, along with the campaign's electoral program, which was approved and stamped on May 22, 2026.

The committee confirmed that it conducted a thorough review of all submitted documents and ensured that the candidacy met all the conditions stipulated in the club's internal regulations and the laws governing the electoral process, without the need to provide a bank guarantee, as it is not mandatory in this case according to Article 40.C.5 of the club's bylaws.

Accordingly, the electoral committee unanimously decided to officially declare the validity and acceptance of Florentino Pérez's candidacy, with a notice of acceptance sent via the email approved by the campaign representative.

With this decision, Perez becomes one of the leading candidates in the race for the presidency of the Royal Club. If there is no other candidate by midnight, Florentino Perez will be announced as the president of Real Madrid tomorrow, Sunday.

It is noted that Spanish businessman Enrique Riquelme is racing against time to submit his election file, knowing that the deadline for candidacy for the club's presidency closes this evening.
