AC Milan is planning to strengthen the left flank during the upcoming summer transfer window, after coach Massimiliano Allegri identified Spanish player Alejandro Grimaldo from Bayer Leverkusen as one of his main targets in preparation for the new season.

The 'Football Italia' website explained that Allegri discussed with Milan management the necessity of signing Grimaldo, given the need to reinforce this position following Theo Hernandez's departure to Al Hilal Saudi Club last summer.

Allegri believes that the Spanish player possesses the right attributes to support the team, thanks to his extensive European experience, technical abilities, and offensive contributions, making him an ideal choice to strengthen the left flank.

The report indicated that completing the deal remains contingent on Milan qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season, as the management sees continental participation as an important factor both financially and sportingly to finalize the contract.

The source added that Milan might start its communications with Bayer Leverkusen once its European position is secured, especially since Grimaldo is considered one of the standout players in his position in European football after the performances he has delivered with the German club recently.
