According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Iniesta will take on the role of coaching Gulf United Club in Dubai, a relatively newly established team that participates in the UAE League. The club has experienced rapid growth in recent years since its founding in 2019.
The club that Iniesta will lead is part of an ambitious project that integrates artistic and administrative work, where the Spanish star will take on the role of "coach and sporting director" simultaneously, granting him extensive authority within the team.
Iniesta concluded his playing career after stints in Japan with Vissel Kobe and then in the UAE with Emirates Club. He is now beginning a new chapter in his career, but this time from the sidelines instead of on the field.
