The official website of Manchester City announced the departure of the Spanish coach Pep Guardiola from leading the first team during the summer of 2026, after a journey that lasted 10 years since he took over in July 2016.

The club clarified that Guardiola will continue his association with the City Football Group through a role as a global ambassador, which includes providing technical consultations to the group's affiliated clubs and participating in special projects.

During his leadership, Guardiola won 20 major titles, becoming the most successful coach in the club's history, and achieved numerous records in English football.

Pep Guardiola said in statements published by Manchester City's official website: "Do not ask me about the reasons for my departure, there is no specific reason, but I feel that the time has come. What will remain are the emotions, memories, and love that I hold for Manchester City. We worked, fought, and achieved everything our way. I love you all."

The statement pointed out that Guardiola's most notable achievements include 6 Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, 3 FA Cups, and 5 League Cups, along with historic records in the Premier League.
