The official website of Manchester United announced the continuation of Michael Carrick in his position as the head coach of the first football team, after signing a new contract that extends until 2028, reflecting the management's confidence in the technical project he is leading during the current period.

The decision to renew came after the positive results achieved by Carrick since his return to the club last January, as he led the team to notable victories against Manchester City and Arsenal in his first two matches in the Premier League, earning him the Manager of the Month award.

He also succeeded in leading Manchester United to qualify for the Champions League next season, after achieving 11 victories in 16 matches under his leadership, alongside recording the highest point tally in the Premier League since taking over the role.

Michael Carrick is considered one of the most prominent players in Manchester United's history, having played 464 matches in the team's jersey and won numerous titles, most notably the Premier League five times, the FA Cup, the League Cup twice, in addition to the Champions League, the Europa League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Michael Carrick said in statements published by Manchester United's official website: "From the moment I arrived here 20 years ago, I felt the magic of Manchester United. Taking responsibility for leading this special club gives me an immense feeling of pride."
