Upcoming Meeting Between Cancelo's Agent and Al Hilal Saudi Management

Al Hilal Saudi Club is preparing to hold an important meeting with Jorge Mendes, the agent of Portuguese player Joao Cancelo, to discuss the player's future and determine his destination in the upcoming period, amid Barcelona's interest in keeping him within its ranks.

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that coach Hans Flick has asked Barcelona's management to work on retaining Cancelo after the performances he delivered with the team during the latter part of the season.

Despite the player's desire to continue his journey with Barcelona, Al Hilal insists on its stance against facilitating his departure, especially since his contract extends until the summer of 2027.

The report indicated that the Saudi club does not intend to agree to a new loan, as it seeks to achieve the greatest possible financial benefit from the deal, particularly given the European interest in signing the player.

The source also explained that the anticipated meeting between Al Hilal's management and the player's agent coincides with the club's moves to appoint a new foreign sporting director to manage transfer and departure files within the team.

The report added that Al Hilal plans to use the European offers interested in acquiring Cancelo as a pressure card in its negotiations with Barcelona, in order to reach a suitable financial agreement before finalizing the player's future.
