Gavi: Tchouameni Should Not Have Been Involved in El Clasico, We're Used to It
Barcelona midfielder Gavi spoke about the altercation that occurred between Real Madrid players Aurélien Tchouaméni and Fede Valverde before the last El Clásico, which the Catalan club won (2-0).
In his interview with Mundo Deportivo, the Spanish star said, "If a physical altercation occurs, in my opinion, the coach should not allow the player to participate in the next match."
The Barcelona player added: "If what has been circulated is true, I think it was a mistake to involve Tchouaméni in the Clasico, but I don't know what actually happened."
He continued: "I was hoping for Real Madrid to beat Espanyol so we could secure the league title on our home ground and in front of our fans (in El Clasico), and that's what happened. Things have become much better."
He concluded: "The criticisms coming from Real Madrid? We are used to having our achievements downplayed, but winning two consecutive leagues with many La Masia players and without many new signings is a great achievement, and we won't pay attention to them."
