Atletico Madrid Places Cucurella at the Top of Their Priorities

Atlético Madrid continues its intensive moves in the upcoming summer transfer market, with Spanish player Marc Cucurella becoming the top target for the management to strengthen the left flank. This deal could have a direct impact on reshaping the defense line under the leadership of Diego Simeone.

Despite the club's activity in more than one defensive file, the name Cucurella strongly imposes itself within the corridors of "Los Rojiblancos," at a time when the management is dealing with several challenges in parallel, most notably the central defense file and the potential departure of more than one name in the upcoming period.

Reports indicate that the Catalan full-back is experiencing an unstable situation with Chelsea, due to frequent changes in the coaching staff at "Stamford Bridge," in addition to the team's absence from participating in the Champions League next season, which has opened the door to speculations about his future.

The newspaper "Esto es Atleti" had previously revealed Atletico's interest in the player, before "Marca" confirmed that the club's management is seriously following up, with a clear roadmap to resolve this matter during the transfer window.

On the other hand, Atletico understands that the deal will not be easy, especially with Chelsea holding on to the player whose contract extends until 2028 and who cost the club more than 65 million euros. Additionally, there is interest from Barcelona, which further complicates the competition.

Nevertheless, the player's desire to return to La Liga offers a glimmer of hope for Atlético's management, who believe this move could be a turning point in their defensive rebuilding project, especially with some players like Clément Lenglet and José María Giménez nearing departure from the center-back position.
