Revealing the List of Iraq's Squad Participating in the Spain Camp
The head coach of the Iraqi national team, Graham Arnold, announced the preliminary list that will enter the preparatory camp in Spain before the start of the 2026 World Cup finals. The list includes 35 players who were selected after a comprehensive evaluation of their performance over the past months.
The list has been sent to the International Federation "FIFA" as part of the organizational procedures, and it will be reduced to only 26 players in the final list, which will be announced on June 1.
The "Lions of Mesopotamia" camp will begin in Girona, Spain, on May 22, and includes two friendly matches against Andorra on May 29 and Spain on June 4.
After that, the delegation will head to the United States to complete preparations and play a third friendly match against Venezuela on June 9.
Arnold confirmed that the Girona camp will be "decisive" in determining the names capable of representing Iraq in the World Cup, in terms of mental and physical readiness.
