Amid Internal Disputes: Spalletti Approaches Crucial Meeting with Juventus Owner

Luciano Spalletti is preparing to hold crucial talks with Juventus owner John Elkann, amid clear disagreements between the coach and the club's CEO, Damien Comolli.

Juventus faces the risk of missing out on qualifying for the Champions League after losing 2-0 at home to Fiorentina, leaving them two points away from the top four spots ahead of the final round of the Italian league.

"Tutto Sport" reported that Spalletti, who signed a new contract with Juventus until 2028 last April, has already announced an upcoming meeting with the club owner John Elkann, reflecting tension in his relationship with CEO Damien Comolli.

The newspaper explained that the disagreements between the two parties stem from several reasons, most notably the transfer issue, as Spalletti requested the signing of a new striker during the winter transfer window, but his request was not fulfilled.

The report also indicated that Spalletti has reservations about the role of technical director François Modesto within the club, as he believes that his responsibilities are not entirely clear.

The newspaper added that the Italian coach wants an additional figure to act as a liaison between the team and the club's management, noting that Matteo Tognozzi, the sporting director of Rio Ave, is one of the names considered for a return to Juventus.

The report also pointed out that Spalletti is dissatisfied with the role of Ricardo Pecini, one of the key advisors to the executive director in transfer decisions and head of scouting, despite Pecini working externally and not being exclusively tied to the club.

The newspaper confirmed that Spalletti is not calling for the dismissal of Damien Comolli, but he believes it is necessary to reduce his authority in sports decisions and team management.

Comolli joined Juventus a year ago, initially as General Manager, before assuming the position of CEO in October 2025.
