Inter Milan Places Barcelona Defender at the Top of Its Interests

Inter Milan has entered the planning stage for an ambitious summer transfer market after achieving a domestic double. The Italian club aims to strengthen its defense with prominent players in preparation for a strong challenge for the UEFA Champions League title next season.

The newspaper "Corriere dello Sport" indicated that Inter Milan is prioritizing Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo, along with young defender Luka Vuskovic, who will return to Tottenham after a successful loan spell with Hamburg.

Araujo is gaining increasing attention within Italian football, after Juventus tried to sign him a year and a half ago. However, the Uruguayan player insisted on continuing with Barcelona at that time.

The Italian newspaper reported that Inter's management is seriously considering the details of the deal, especially since Araujo's agent has a strong relationship with the Italian club after several deals were made between the two parties in recent years. There is also the possibility of including the Uruguayan defender in the process of signing Alessandro Bastoni, although negotiations over the Inter defender have recently stalled due to the Italian club's high financial demands.

On the other hand, Barcelona is still searching for a left-footed center-back, as they currently have a large number of right-footed defenders. Bastoni is clearly admired within the Catalan club, but the financial value of the deal remains the biggest obstacle, as Inter's valuation of the player has exceeded the 60 million euro mark.

Barcelona prefers to reduce the value of any potential deal by including a player in the transaction, but so far, no official negotiations have taken place between the two clubs regarding this matter.

At the same time, Barcelona officials feel relieved about the level Ronald Araújo has shown after returning from the mid-season forced break, as he still enjoys the confidence of the coaching staff and sports management, along with his strong standing in the locker room.

The newspaper clarified that the player is not considering leaving Barcelona, despite his reduced primary role recently, especially since he has previously made financial concessions to continue with the Catalan club, which reflects his clear desire to continue his journey with the team.

On the other hand, Inter Milan continues to monitor the development of Luka Vuskovic, who has become one of the standout surprises in the German league this season, raising his market value to over 40 million euros, with the possibility of leaving Tottenham if the team is relegated at the end of the season.
