Revealing One of Mourinho's Contract Terms with Real Madrid

The Portuguese coach José Mourinho is very close to returning to manage Real Madrid, with reports indicating that the official announcement is pending only the final signing of the contracts.

The Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that the Portuguese coach is still under contract with Benfica for an additional season, which provides him with legal cover in case of any unexpected developments related to the Real Madrid presidential elections, even though current indications confirm that Florentino Perez will continue in his position.

The reports added that the agreement between Mourinho and Real Madrid stipulates a contract lasting two seasons, with a clause allowing for automatic extension to a third season if the team succeeds in winning the Spanish league title under his leadership.

The newspaper indicated that Mourinho's plan is to stay in Lisbon until next Thursday, before heading to London to spend a few days with his family, and then traveling to Madrid to complete the signing procedures and start his new project.

Mourinho will fully assume his duties within the club at the beginning of next June, with extensive authority in the new sports project, along with his desire to bring his entire coaching staff for the upcoming phase.

It is unknown whether the official announcement of Mourinho's arrival will be made before or after the presidential elections, especially following reports that Spanish businessman Enrique Riquelme has entered the election race, which might delay the announcement of the contract with the Portuguese coach.

It is noted that the candidacy for the presidency of Real Madrid officially closes on May 23. If no one runs, Perez will be declared the winner on May 24 or 25. If Riquelme confirms his entry into the elections, the club will call for a vote, with the winner to be announced at the beginning of June.
